For journalists and researchers
WoodComp is built to be cited. Every figure on the site has a source next to it, every facility has a permanent identifier, and the methodology page says openly how often we are wrong. This page collects what a journalist or researcher needs to use the data, and what to expect from us.
Citing
Every facility, country and company page carries a "How to cite" block with a permanent address. Facility pages cite the WoodComp ID, which survives renames, ownership changes and page moves: a link that resolves today resolves in five years. The publisher is woodcomp.world AB, a Swedish company.
Licence
Everything shown on the site is Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0: quote it, republish it, build on it, with attribution. No paywall, no registration.
How reliable is it
Judge for yourself: the methodology page publishes our own measured error rate per category, with confidence intervals, from random samples that an independent reviewer tried to prove wrong. No closed data vendor in this industry publishes the equivalent. Where a figure rests on a permit ceiling rather than a company statement, the facility page says so under the number.
Data as a file
For a story or a study that needs data as a file rather than as pages, we prepare an export of the published fields on request, free for journalists, researchers and students: tell us who you are, what you need and what it is for, using the request form in the facility list or by email. We read every request and answer within a week. What we send carries the same sources and caveats as the pages.
We do not estimate figures we have no source for, we do not provide data we have marked unpublished, and we do not comment on individual companies beyond what the sourced record says.
