    Andritz announced on 7 August 2023 an order to optimise the Enocell fibre line for more flexible production with lower chemical, water and energy use, scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2024 at a mill producing 630,000 tonnes of softwood and hardwood pulp per year.

    Stora Enso announced on 6 April 2021 that it would exit the dissolving pulp business globally and halt dissolving pulp production at the Enocell mill, which continues with other pulp grades.

    Stora Enso announced on 26 October 2017 an investment of 52 million euro to convert Enocell to produce only dissolving pulp, 430,000 tonnes per year, with softwood kraft pulp production to be phased out and completion in the second half of 2019.

    The mill was shut down from the end of March 2009 and production restarted at the beginning of November 2009, after the market situation improved through the summer. The stoppage explains the 2009 output of 161 167 tonnes against 540 000 to 655 000 tonnes in the preceding years.
